Samba Canasta is Canasta + some extra's.
Since August 2025 we play according the Official Samba Canasta Rules
with the addition of a "Bolivia" from the Super Samba game.

By us the main goal is to have a nice afternoon and help new players wherever possible.

When you come in it's nice to say hello to the players already present, in a warm and friendly manner.
We all have a life outside Samba Canasta so if you can not play on a specific day: Just let us know
If you come later than expected: Just let us know
If you have to leave early; Just go after finishing a complete "hand" of 15/16 or 17 cards.

One of the players has to do the scoring and because we (Harm & Yolanda) are not always present
it's convenient to do it on turns so everybody knows how to do it in case we are not here.

Having a fun afternoon is the Golden Rule
We are having a very friendly group of Samba Canasta players and I would like to keep it that way.
We do not accept anyone being rude or criticising their partners or opponents or being anything less than polite.

In short:
Greet others in a friendly manner prior to start of play.
Be a good “host” or “guest” at the table.
No permanent partnerships are allowed
Help new players as much as possible so they feel welcome.
Give credit when opponents or partner make a good meld.
Take care of your personal grooming.
Joking around is ok as long as you pay attention who's turn it is.
