Etiquette

Samba Canasta the way we play it is "The best of both worlds" because the websites I did check slightly differ from eachother.

So I created "our" points/rules etc. sheets which we are using since then.

It is not like Bridge with Worldwide rules/regulations and by us the main goal is to have a nice afternoon.

There is no membership fee to belong to our group because this is a social group (not a club !)

When you come in it's nice to say hello to the players already present, in a warm and friendly manner.

Because we all have a life outside Samba Canasta so if you have to go early just go after finishing a round.

One of the players has to do the scoring and because Harm is not always present it's convenient to do it on turns

so everybody knows how to do it in case Harm's not here.

Having a fun afternoon is the Golden Rule

We are having a very friendly group of Samba Canasta players and I would like to keep it that way.

We do not accept anyone being rude or criticising their partners or opponents or being anything less than polite.

In short:

Greet others in a friendly manner prior to start of play.

Be a good “host” or “guest” at the table.

No permanent partnerships are allowed

Help new players as much as possible so they feel welcome.

Give credit when opponents or partner make a good meld.

Take care of your personal grooming.

Joking around is ok as long as you pay attention who's turn it is.
